The Government Medical College, Bhandara was established in 2024 with an intake capacity of 100 MBBS students.
It was inaugurated on 9th October 2024 by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi through video conferencing,
along with eight other newly established medical colleges in Maharashtra.
Initially, the college commenced functioning in the premises of the newly constructed Women’s Hospital, Bhandara,
while the District Hospital, Bhandara, is serving as the teaching hospital.
For the development of a dedicated campus, 25 acres of land have been allotted at Mouza Paladi, Bhandara,
located 7.2 km from the present site. Bridge & Roof India Ltd. has been appointed as the project management company for infrastructure development.
